As digital self-services for menus, ordering, and payments continue to dominate consumer expectations, restaurants that recently integrated contactless merchant- and customer-facing solutions find they are better prepared for the industry’s “new normal.” Many Aldelo Express Cloud POS users are realizing that “tomorrow is now today,” as they seamlessly move away from legacy hardware-dependent solutions to digital and paperless solutions, improving performance and lowering costs.
In 2021, Aldelo introduced several cutting-edge developments to enhance and expand the capabilities of its Aldelo Express Cloud POS and Masa+ Online Ordering solutions, providing owners and operators the point-of-sale resources they need today and free access to the solutions of tomorrow.

In 2021, Aldelo introduced several cutting-edge developments to enhance and expand the capabilities of its Aldelo Express Cloud POS and Masa+ Online Ordering solutions, providing owners and operators the point-of-sale resources they need today and free access to the solutions of tomorrow.
Here are the company’s most valuable developments from 2021:
Access to All-in-One Compact Mobile POS Devices
Aldelo’s all-in-one compact mobile POS solution extends existing traditional restaurant ordering and payment capabilities to tableside, patio, and other outdoor environments using Wi-Fi and cellular data connectivity. Versatile mobile POS devices from Aldelo Express run the same powerful point-of-sale software as in-store terminals, allowing staff to access complex modifiers, sync the device with the in-store POS ecosystem, and recall Masa+ online orders to make order edits from the palm of their hand. Each device prints orders directly to an Aldelo Express kitchen display system (KDS) and can support up to twenty individual printers from a single device.
In addition, mobile handheld devices can accept mobile credit card payments via swipe, tap, or dip. Back-up cellular data-based capabilities enable merchants to continue operating and/or settle open customer orders in the event of a network or power outage. This versatile, compact, and intuitive mobile solution is ideal for small and large businesses looking to mobilize their staff in non-traditional dining environments.
“Facial AI” Login Security Feature
Aldelo Express merchants select from personal PINs, QR code badges, and now facial recognition for providing employee access to iPad-based POS terminals. Face detection and face matching processes for verification/identification are simple and fast. Through “face detection, face capture, and face match” Aldelo utilizes biometrics to map facial features and compares the information with known faces stored and secured on the Aldelo Cloud.
Use of facial recognition technology has steadily grown in the mobility, security, health, banking, and retail industries. It is the most natural of all biometric measurements because we recognize ourselves not by looking at our fingerprints or irises, but by looking at our faces. Aldelo’s technology requires no physical interaction or specialized equipment for capturing and authenticating users.
Physical Split Check
Wait staff access the split check feature from any Aldelo Express POS device. Servers conveniently access, recall, adjust, and re-adjust checks before printing physical receipts, dividing a party’s bill by seat or by the check amount in seconds. Customers can “cover” an entire group’s meal, pay for multiple people on one card, or share the cost of a meal among family and friends. Staff simply open a check and hit “Split” before making edits across seats, tables, or groups and printing new checks from a countertop printer or all-in-one mobile handheld device.
The new Aldelo Express physical split check feature allows for easy workflows, increased table turn rates, and ease of payments for all order types, including tableside, curbside, and delivery. It provides enhanced customer experiences and helps wait staff meet guest demands with easy manipulation of checks on-the-fly, without ever having to restart an order.

Enhanced Masa+ Digital Payment Features
Masa+ Online Ordering and Payments from Aldelo Express is a full-featured, native, integrated web-based solution for restaurants, pizza places, bars, food trucks, and more. Masa+ solutions and features can be used in-store to streamline customer-driven ordering and payments, or online to expand a business’ customer base. When used with Aldelo Express Cloud POS, restaurants increase their sales by an average of 8.3%.
Aldelo’s team of developers enhanced Masa+ to provide restaurants and customers with even greater flexibility for completing ordering and payments. As of 2021, customers view Masa+ Rewards tracking and redemption histories as well as purchase, share, track, and redeem Masa+ eGift Cards in a secure online Masa+ account. eGifts can be purchased anytime, anywhere to share with customers’ family and friends via secure SMS text message from the comfort of their personal device. With a single click, friends receiving the eGift Card auto-populate their new store credit to their Masa+ online account to redeem immediately or store for future use.
The new “split payment” feature from Masa+ allows customers to combine Loyalty, Rewards, Coupons, Gift Cards, and credit cards in a single transaction, regardless of whether it was made in-store or online. Masa+ will even auto-search for redeemable credits with no additional steps from customers or staff. This new feature not only provides enhanced payment flexibility, but encourages guests to participate in a restaurant’s Loyalty, Reward, Coupon, and eGift programs.
Free Masa+ QR Code-Based Marketing Items
Aldelo is helping Aldelo Express POS merchants to make the most of every customer interaction by providing users with FREE QR code-based stickers and boxes of 500 personalized business/menu cards. Each free QR code-based marketing item helps restaurants promote their digital menus, online storefronts, and provide convenient customer access to great food, drinks, and dining atmosphere.
After nearly two years of adjusting to a “new normal” in the restaurant industry, online demand for ordering food, drinks, and gift cards are at the highest levels ever. Restaurants can place QR codes on tabletops, counters, windows, and other signage throughout the restaurant to streamline in-store operations, reduce customer wait times, and increase customer satisfaction.
QR codes shared on social media and a business’ website help promote a restaurant’s online ordering solution and expand its customer base. When used in marketing partnerships with local establishments, QR codes promote complementary products and services from each business. With the overall contactless payment market on the rise and expected to surpass $4.6 trillion by 2027, now is the time for restaurants to begin enhancing their services with QR code-based digital payment transactions. *

Aldelo 2021 Recap
Aldelo's Perspective on the Restaurant Industry Now, and in the Year to Come A Three Part Series - PART ONE 4-minute read ---
Since March of 2020, restaurant owners faced what seems like a lifetime of challenges that have threatened long-standing businesses and livelihoods. Labor shortages impacted the restaurant industry despite an enormous amount of job openings for all job positions in the sector. Restaurant owners and operators personally filled the gaps in their operations by dedicating extra hours taking on a variety of job functions previously held by hostesses, servers, kitchen and support staff. |
Aldelo Announces Release of “Facial AI” Login Feature
Facial Recognition Technology Secures POS, Labor and Manager Functions PLEASANTON, CA – December 21, 2021 - Aldelo, L.P., developer of the Aldelo Express Cloud POS restaurant technology platform that includes a native suite of merchant- and customer-facing iOS and Android point-of-sale solutions, announces the release of its “Facial AI” login feature. The first application of the technology for the restaurant industry, Aldelo’s facial recognition solution utilizes a standard tablet for securing access to Aldelo Express POS, timekeeping modules used for tracking employee time, manager functions, and cloud back-office.
Use of facial recognition technology has steadily grown in the mobility, security, health, banking, and retail industries. It is the most natural of all biometric measurements because we recognize ourselves not by looking at our fingerprints or irises, but by looking at our faces.
