Celebratory Days for the Month of June

Attract Customers with Themed Campaigns this Summer
4-minute read ---
Customers are always looking to celebrate. As a result, restaurants commonly turn to fun and engaging celebratory days that increase customer engagement and orders for their restaurant or bar.

This June, restaurants are preparing to attract customers with Father’s Day specials, attracting customers with limited-time discounts, free menu items, and loyalty/rewards credits. In addition, the National Basketball Association will be hosting the 2022 NBA Finals bracket competition, providing the ideal setting for watch parties and basketball themed promotions.

Here are other celebratory days for the month of June to use in themed campaigns and promote new menu items.

National Cheese Day - June 4

The United States is the leading global cheese manufacturer, producing and distributing billions of pounds of cheese each year. With thousands of varieties and uses, and now expanding into the dairy-free sector, cheese is a universally appreciated menu item, used in appetizers, entrees, and even desserts.

Restaurants can use National Cheese day to promote featured cheese-related menu items, or introduce new items to their restaurant menu such as macaroni and cheese, cheesecake, grilled cheese variations, or new cheese hors d'oeuvres paired with popular wines.

International Falafel Day - June 12

Falafel is a popular Middle Eastern food typically made from fried (or baked) ground chickpeas and a variety of herbs and spices such as garlic, parsley, and cumin. As a meat- and dairy-free food, falafels are popular among vegan and vegetarian menus, served a-la-carte or with fresh vegetables and tahini sauce.

This June, restaurants introducing falafel to limited-time menus provide a health-conscious, vegetarian and vegan menu option that attract customers from multiple demographics. Restaurants may opt to create the Middle Eastern dish in-house, or take the opportunity to collaborate with other local restaurants and begin a special campaign.

National Bourbon Day - June 14

Bourbon whiskey, or bourbon for short, is a barrel-aged distilled liquor created by American settlers. In 1964 it was congressionally declared as the native American spirit.

National Bourbon Day provides a great opportunity for restaurants (and bars!) to promote this popular liquor alongside complementary foods, appetizers, or in delicious desserts. When not served on its own, bourbon makes a great addition to desserts, syrupy sauces, barbeque, and even meatballs! Examples include: chocolate bourbon monkey bread, ginger mint juleps, bourbon barbeque chicken tacos, and bourbon candied bacon deviled eggs.

National Smoothie Day - June 21

National Smoothie Day comes during the time of year when many fruits and berries are ready to be harvested. Since all a smoothie takes is a liquid base and fruit thrown into a blender, the possibilities are endless for a refreshing, flavorful, and nutritious summer beverage. By throwing in leafy greens and spices (think cinnamon or turmeric), smoothies pack an even better punch for your health-conscious customer.

This year, take the opportunity to offer make-your-own smoothies using fresh and frozen fruits already in your restaurant kitchen, or sourcing new ingredients from local supplies to provide new options to existing smoothie menus.

National Onion Day - June 27

National Onion Day was established in 2019 by the National Onion Association, representing over 500 associates that contribute to the billion-dollar U.S. onion industry that includes farmers, shippers, grocers, and restaurants. Whether used fresh in salads and slaws or grilled alongside meat and potatoes, onions carry a potent flavor and iconic fragrance such to grab the attention of savory-loving customers.

Some onion dishes include sweet onion pie, pickled onions on sandwiches, caramelized onion cheeseburgers, French onion soup, and – a fried classic – onion rings. However you decide to highlight them, onions are sure to complement nearly any savory dish and entice guests with this nutrition-packed vegetable.
Advertise via Customer QR Codes

Charity Dinners and Auctions Introduce Unlikely Guests
to Restaurant Menus
3-minute read ---
Themed charity events are a very successful method of fundraising for community and non-profit organizations. In-person fundraisers allow organizations to promote their cause in-person, directly engage with benefactors, and increase donations with entertainment, great food, and drinks. This provides the perfect opportunity for local restaurants and caterers to “put their best food forward” and expose their menus to the broader community.
