The most used screen in any POS system should be the Items Screen.  This is where the items for the order are entered, options are chosen, items entered by seat and modifiers selected.  No other screen has so much time spent on it as the Items Screen.  Therefore, it stands to reason that this screen should be easy to understand, easy to navigate and easy to use.  The Aldelo Express Items Screen is all of that and more.
More features can be accessed from the Items Screen than anywhere else in the software.  Simply by touching the screen special features are immediately available to the operator no matter what vertical the software is being used.  Features such as:

• Item entry – No limit to the number of items per category.  If too many items are in a category to be displayed on a single screen the operator may swipe to explore additional screens.
• Item categories – Displayed down the left side of the screen.  If there are too many categories to be displayed on a single screen the operator may swipe up to revel more.
• Hold and Fire – The ability to set a timer for an item or the entire order to be held for a specified period of time and then fired to the kitchen, hold the item until a specified time of the day, or held until manually released to the kitchen.
• Order by Seat or guest – Perfect for operations with a food runner or where a single touch split check is desired.
• Item and Order Discounts – Applicable discounts are shown by item or for the order.  These can be preset amounts or open, based upon the security level of the operator.
• Item Modifiers – Specific popup screens based upon the item being entered.
• Forced Modifiers – Size of drinks, temps of steaks or side items may be required depending upon the item being entered.
• Item and Order notes for the kitchen – The entry of item specific or order notes for the kitchen.  This ensures that items are properly rung up and prepared even though a preset modifier is not displayed.
• Item Correction – Gives the operator the ability to go back to the modifier screens to correct mistakes in modifier selection prior to the item being sent to the kitchen.
• And many more.
