Aldelo Software Registration and Activation Policies
Software License Explained
  • All software products from Aldelo Systems Inc. and/or Aldelo, L.P. are licensed rather than sold. This is a normal practice within any industries that involve intellectual property rights. Almost all commercially available software products are licensed rather than sold. Licensing a product for use means that your rights to the licensed product are limited to the terms of use as defined under the end user license agreement (EULA) associated with the software.

It is also a common practice to refer to a software as "purchased" or "bought" during the software licensing process. However, the actual meaning of such terminology refers to the act of purchasing the right to use a software license and such right is fully governed by the underlying end user license agreement (EULA) associated with the software.

A software product consists of intellectual properties, innovations and other trade secrets for the purpose of helping its users to simplify associated tasks or operations. The research, development, quality assurance, ongoing lifecycle management and product support translate into an extreme amount of investment both in time and financial resources. At Aldelo, we strongly believe in the protection and enforcement of our intellectual property rights while making such protection and enforcement as transparent as possible.

The following sections will disclose how Aldelo protects and enforces our intellectual property rights. Our entire end user license agreement (EULA) is also published on this website. We hope this publication will enable our customers to truly understand the obstacles software publishers face in attempt to fight copyright infringements while maintaining a high level of licensed customers' satisfaction. If you have suggestions or improvement ideas, please feel free to contact us at management@aldelo.com. We'd sincerely want to achieve the best customer experience possible while still having the ability to protect our intellectual property rights.

Software Registration Explained
  • In order to provide our customers the most flexible software licensing methodology possible, we use software based copy protection for all of our software products. Our Aldelo For Restaurants Pro/Lite/Wireless editions require Software Registration in order to enforce proper use of licenses.

Software Registration requires that true and accurate information to be filled in during the registration steps. Specifically, we require the "Business Name", the "Business Street Address", and the "Business Telephone Number". This information, once registered, will become the permanent record associated with the software license, and this is the information to be printed onto the Guest Receipts (where applicable).

The actual steps of Software Registration are extremely simple. For example, the user would start up the Aldelo For Restaurants software, and then go into the Registration Screen to begin the process. If Internet is avaialble, simply click on Internet Registration and fill in a few fields with true and accurate information and it's complete. On subsequent POS Terminals, registration is even easier. The registration screen would only require the serial number and rest of the registered information will be auto retrieved. If the location does not have Internet connectivity, a telephone registration process is available and our support call center is available 24/7.

Since the serial number is directly tied to the concurrent number of POS station licenses granted, we do want to mention that if the original license needs to add additional station licenses, a store manager would need to visit each POS station to refresh the registration info. When internet access is available, this process takes merely couple of minutes per station.

During the Software Registration process, due to the fact that the registered "Business Name", "Business Street Address" and "Business Telephone Number" become a permanent record associated with the software license and are printed on the guest receipt; we want to stress the importance of filling in such information accurately.

Of course, mistakes are inevitable. Therefore, if the registered information requires correction due to errors, please contact our sales office and our representatives would be happy to help you perform the corrections free of charge.

We also understand that over a period of time, you may need to change your business name, business street address and business telephone number due to operational needs. Although the software license granted has the original registration information recorded permanently, if such a need does arise, our sales office is available to help you process such change requests. In order to achieve the most transparent Software Registration process possible, we may update our Software Registration Information Change Policy from time to time without notice. To find out the most current policy regarding the process and charges involved for the Software Registration permanent record change, please contact our sales office to discuss your needs. Based on a case by case situation, registration change fee waivers may be available.

Lastly, in the unlikely event you need to permanently transfer your rights under this end user license agreement to a third party, our sales office is also able to assist. This is commonly referred to as Licensed Owner Transfer Agreement (LOTA) within our sales group and it will involve a license transfer fee depending on the product, and such fee is calculated as a percentage of the MSRP. Please contact our sales office to find out more details about the most current transfer process.

Software Activation Explained
  • Almost all of Aldelo's software products require Software Activation. This software based copy protection helps us ensure user compliance with the underlying license's terms of use.

The Software Activation process locks the installed copy of the software onto the underlying computer. This method of protection is similarly found on many commercially available software products on the market today.

The Software Activation is extremely simple to perform. When the computer to be activated has Internet connection, the user would simply click Internet Activation* to complete the process. The entire action takes just under a minute to accomplish. In the event Internet is not available, our support call center is avaialble 24/7 to assist with product activations.

Our Software Activations are not tied to the Software Registration. This means if the Software Registration is changed or licenses added, you would not need to re-activate your computer stations.

In order to make the Software Activation process more transparent as well as account for possible hardware upgrades and computer changes, we provide up to 4 activations per license. For example, if the user has a 5 station license, that translates into 20 software activations. Under normal operating situations, most users would never exceed such a maximum threshold. Additionally, in order to further enhance user experience and satisfaction, we also are able to waive any prior activations that were made over 24 months*. We also are able to perform immediate activation waivers for customers who use certified hardware if such hardware requires hardware repairs or upgrades*.

    * Activation waivers allowed only on accounts without excessive registration changes. Certain restrictions and rules may apply. Internet activation is available on Aldelo For Restaurants software product only.
